The tradition of having a Mass offered for someone goes back to the early Church, and has been a constant part of the life of the Church since then.
Masses are normally offered for the repose of the soul of the dead, but can also be offered for the intentions of the living; such as on a birthday, or in a time of ill health. Please specify whether the person the Mass being offered for is living or deceased.
It is customary to make a donation to the Church at which the Mass is being said - our recommended amount is $15.
